The life of a dhol player: Behind the scenes

It’s been 5 years since we launched and abandoned this blog and a lot has changed since. It’s 2019, Donald Trump is president, Boris Johnson is the British Prime Minster, the UK’s leaving Europe in what people think is the first ever BREXIT – have we forgotten when Britain exited India?! But more importantly we’ve changed. We’ve grown up, we’ve both got our careers off the ground, Sunny no longer has that shitty Peugeot 206, we both tried online dating for while…meh!  We’ve got new drums and four years ago we joined one of the best dhol entertainment teams in world – Imperial Drummers.

When we first started this blog five years ago, we wanted to share the behind-the-scenes of being a dhol player, we now want this blog to share so much more: The weddings, the parties, the drama, the love and the emotion. It’s something that’s dominated our lives since our teenage years, and each year since, it’s got bigger and better.

This blog will showcase what it means to be a dhol player. We’ll share stories from our gigs, highlights of international performances, reviews, how to guides for dhol players and so much more! Believe us, there is more to being a dhol player than just picking up your drum and playing a beat.

This is The Life Of A Dhol Player…
